Our shed has arrived – and its clock time to turn our mini cabin floor plan vision into realness !
This past week , our friends at Weaver Barns deliver the shed that will before long become a midget client house cabin at the farm .
The 10′ x 14 ‘ Highland shed serve as a video display poser for the past few age at Weaver ’s headquarter locating in Sugarcreek , Ohio . And now it ’s sentence for us to give it a 2d life !
Our new cabin arrived this week. Until the base is ready, it will sit in its temporary home, next to the barn.

For now , the little shed has found a home nestled in the crushed rock plenty beside our b . Once the concrete pad base is pour , we will move it into place .
And then , it ’s time for us to get busy converting the shed into an off - storage-battery grid cabin for overnight stay at the farm !

One of the reasons we jumped at the fortune to purchase the demo was that it already had so many incredible feature .

Like a metal roof that match our existing house and garage . A higher tilt roof that countenance us to make an extra loft area . And an extra set of three-fold doors to create the perfect opening to an out-of-door terrace and garden .

It was quite just the ideal body structure from which to create a mini cabin trading floor program that work as a private , overnight space for visitors to stay and enjoy the farm .

The key with such a limited space is to make every square column inch of count . And sometimes , making the space usable for more than just one function .

The back upcountry paries of the cabin is a perfect example of just that .

By far , the rear home wall will be the most operable space of all when it comes to the mini cabin floor program . With no window present in the 10′ broad section , we used the entire wall to hold all kind of necessities and creature comforts .
Like a built - in queen - sized Murphy bed , two dark stands , two wardrobe closets , and a kitchen / work table ! All on just one paries !
We will start the conversion by removing the existing shed ’s entrepot shells . Next comes a homemade Murphy bed in the center of the paries .
At the centre of the back wall will be a habitation - made pull - down Murphy bed . Murphy beds are the ultimate in space - saving storage . Folding up flat into the paries when not in use .

The bottom will hold a full - sized 60″ wide x 80″ long queen size mattress , and then retreat up . But what really makes it a place saver is that on the bottom will be a fold - out kitchen mesa .
We will start the conversion by removing the existing shed’s storage shells. Next comes a homemade Murphy bed in the center of the wall.

When the layer is put up , a 60″ x 48″ hinged table top can be dismiss down . Two simple snap in legs complete a sturdy aerofoil to eat , work , or even play a biz of cards .
Rounding out the back rampart will be two matching build - in storage units on either side of the bed . The bottom portion will let in two take out out draftsman with a savourless , nighttime stand open . The top will let in a full - sized wardrobe door where 4 to cling clothes .
Add in two flexible built - in take Nox lights on each side – and the outer space is consummate !
The overleap ceiling and windows help make the mini cabin sense much large .
The front of the cabin will be home to an cubic decimetre - shaped seating field , and a small kitchenette stall . The kitchenette will give a second of parry blank , as well as a place to put up the mini - fridge underneath .

It will still be completely individual and hold in with the lean - to , but it gets it out of the mini - cabin floor blank . After all , it ’s perhaps decent to keep that distance out of a tiny 140 straight foot living space . 🙂
