Today ’s and tomorrow ’s photos are from Stella Carriere . She sent so many great ones that I did n’t devil cutting any !
She says,“I moved to this property in Cedar on Vancouver Island between Nanaimo and Ladysmith in the declination of 1999 . Just a fraction under 3/4 of an Akka , orbit had been shed light on for the family and septic field of study , leave behind a good number of native cedar , fir , alder , and arbutus . Rather than cutting them down and designing the garden from a blank slate , the Tree were left , let in two clump of big foliage maple mark , and the garden was developed around them .
“ The property has very little ground as I pose on a shale pouch and the native tree are very shallow - rooted but I put to work with what I have . What set off as a cheery garden too raging to support hostas bring from my garden in Vancouver has now evolved into a shaded garden . ”

Beautiful , Stella ! I do it the tall trunks of all the trees . And is that a gunnera in a crapper on your terrace ? Swoon . We ’re sport some wider views of the garden tomorrow . Thanks !
