Amsterdam Airport Schiphol ( AAS ) has announced total freight loudness decreased by 9.2 per cent to 767,519 tonnes , compare with 2018 , but total belly cargo volume increased by 0.9 per centime , following the release of the mid - class figures .

Full freighter consignment volumes were down by 16.4 per cent , with a decrease of full freighter air tape drive movements ( ATMs ) by 14.4 per cent , but total paunch cargo ATMs increase by 3.3 per cent .

The figure show that Shanghai , China , remains the main destination for AAS reach 88,481 tonnes in the first six month of 2019 , despite the ongoing trade tensions with the US , follow by Moscow , Russia , with 38,633 tonnes .

“ The mid - year figures reflect our expectations for a diminution in overall bottom loudness as we continue to front slot scarcity , on top of a weakening of the orbicular air travel cargo market , ” read Bart Pouwels , Head of Cargo , Amsterdam Airport Schiphol .

“ With a decrease of full freighters , we may become less attractive for freight forwarders , as the forwarders call for a mix of full freight rate and venter cargo to operate sustainably .

“ This may leave in forwarders leaving Schiphol and the aerodrome becoming less attractive for air hose as belly payload contributes significantly to certain routes .

“ We are knifelike to maintain our electronic internet of destinations for which we need to keep our load volumes at a sustainable level . ”

The mid - year figures revealed a decrement in volume across all grocery store , apart from modest increases in North America outbound and the Middle East inbound .

The Asiatic inbound market was down by 10 per centime to 131,725 t , and outbound lessen by 13 per cent to 130,520 MT .

European figure show a 15 per cent inward decline to 47,493 t , compare to the same period last year , and outbound was down by 8 per cent to 54,756 MT .

The North American market see a 13 per cent inward decrease to 56,314 tonnes , and an increase in outbound cargo of 4 per penny to 82,242 tonnes .

The Romance American securities industry show negative growth with inward consignment down 10 per cent to 58,666 tonne , and an 8 per cent reduction in outbound cargo to 37,184 t .

The African market showed negative outbound outcome with a 4 per centime decrease in cargo to 25,489 metric ton , while inward cargo decrease by 20 per cent to 46,518 tonnes .

The Middle Eastern region expire up by 5 per cent ( inbound ) but declined 6 per penny ( outbound ) to severally 44,603 and 52,008 tonnes .
