in a Vase on Monday. July Blues.
My first vase contains the diminutive , but electric blue , King Tut ’s Blue Sweet Pea . If you believe the legends ( and I do n’t ) it was found in the grave of Tutankhamun . I ca n’t remember why he would have wanted this little pea plant in the afterlife , as it is tiny and the pea plant are toxic if eaten in measure . Anyway , there is an edible pea which is also suppose to have been found in his tomb . Perhaps he was just very lovesome of pea plant . My lovely friend , Janet gave me my seed year ago and every year I seed a few because I would n’t want to be without it . It is n’t scented , but never mind it is very pretty . I be intimate the dark drear veining and the pink blossom at its heart .
Lathyrussativus var.azureus
I prefer some more blue to put in my endearing blue glass vase .

Lathyrussativus var.azureus
I thought I would show it inwardly , using flash as well , as the color seem to be a fleck washed out in the stab in the garden . For silverish leaf I used the blue glaucous- leavedBerberis temolacia , Artemesia‘Powis Castle ’ and the silverySantolina chamaecyparissus‘Lemon Queen ’ .

I have Larkspur which reseed itself every year in grim and clean , as does the peach - leavedCampanulapersicifolia , also in this picture .

Lathyrussativus var.azureus
genus Solanum crispum
In the above motion picture we haveSolanum crispumand a few flowers of the littleCampanulacarpatica . Below , with theCampanulawhich has a purple centre , there is a blue flowered piece of the trailingConvolvulus sabatius .
Campanula carpaticaandConvolvulus sabatius

I also used some spikes ofVeronica gentianoides‘Blue Streak ’ which is easy from seed . It is awesome how many of the flowers we call bluish are not blue at all , but more reddish blue . But still I am very fond of all these ghost of blue or reddish blue . Call them what you like , they are very pretty . Any day now , theAgapanthuswill be out and then we will have as much true blue as we care .
give thanks you Cathy atRamblinginthegardenfor hosting as common . Cathy is very calm , all in white this workweek . I am off to have a flavor and to see all the other posts of ‘ In a Vase on Monday ’ .

Oh my goodness . That first one with the blue Sweet Peas is … dreamy . Of course , they ’re both beautiful , but that Sweet Pea cultivar is witching . And your arrangement does it justice in a round-eyed vase . Sigh .
The sweet pea is entrancing … my seed compliments listing is increasing . The downhearted and silverish arrangement is inspiring .
perhaps in the afterlife , poisoning is n’t a risk ? 😉 I do jazz that patrician sweet-scented pea – and all your blue and reddish blue . I also have Solanum in my vase this week . I ’ve never used Artemisia in a vase but I ’ll have to copy your example one Clarence Day .

Those sweet peas are splendid … as is your blue vase ! I fuck all the ‘ blue ’ flowers … wonderful variety !
arresting as always ! You blab the blues beautifully !
Beautiful inspiring vapors , lie with them !

dismal is my most favourite colour too , and you are so right that it comes in many shades . The lenient Convovulus leafage forge really well with the Campanula – an idea I may well steal for a future arranging !
