Amongst the stunning natural beauty of Acadia National Park, gardeners can enjoy a variety of colorful plantings
glad Friday GPODers !
A twosome of Fridays back , I shared pic from a summertime trip to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor , Maine ( GPOD on the Road : Bar Harbor in July ) . Of course , many New Englanders have made the trip-up to coastal Maine to enjoy the natural wonder that is Acadia , and the coloured town of Bar Harbor in the summer . Carol Rice from Plymouth , Massachusetts share pic from her most late adventure .
I , too , spend days in Bar Harbor and loved the flowers everywhere ! Just had to share …

This bed is very interchangeable to the one photograph with the Incrediball ® smooth hydrangea ( Hydrangea arborescens‘Abetwo ’ , geographical zone 3–8 ) . ( Again , you could check that out here : GPOD on the route : Bar Harbor in July ) This also has a lovely array of colorful blossom , but the focal point is a arresting pink and white panicle hydrangea ( Hydrangea paniculata , Zones 3–8 ) . I have to say , I enjoy the extra dash of colouration .
A close up of that amazing hydrangea , report in gorgeous flowers .
Carol also fleck this plushy window box . Petunias are a lovely bright spot amongst sour blue salvia and various moody heucheras . Silver Falls ™ dichondra ( Dichondraargentea‘Silver Falls ’ , yearly ) never disappoints as a spiller .

Of course , there is endless merriment and lifelike beauty to enjoy ! Who would n’t love this unbelievable boulder in their garden ?
When I received these exposure from Carol , I decide to go through my photos one last time to see if there were any Bar Harbor planting that I overleap in the last C. W. Post . Here are the few that I wanted to share :
Although Bar Harbor is n’t a major metropolitan city , there often still is n’t space for large , expansive garden around every corner . However , that does n’t think that plant magic ca n’t be regain in tiny chap and unexpected places — just like this petite side garden I trip upon .

While container plantings and small garden bed are a plenty in and around Bar Harbor , the are even more tree diagram to be admired . I really loved how this bright green spruce see against the blue ocean backdrop . Ever wonder how hoi polloi can recognize the different between different sort of conifers ? There are a throng of characteristics to search out for . To learn more , mark off out the article : Fir vs. Spruce vs. Pine : How to Tell Them aside . For an even deeper dive , check out this awe-inspiring fact sheet from Ohio State University : Is It Pine , Spruce , or Fir ?
finally , I wanted to share a photo of the actualJordan Pond in Acadia National Park . In my last post , I shared some planters that were outside the famousJordan Pond Houserestaurant and shop turn up near this famous landmark . When switch through my photos I decided you should all really see the pond that give the restaurant its name .
Thank you for sharing your flower - filled escapade in Bar Harbor , Carol ! It was so nice to see the planting that caught your oculus .
