They commence on 4.5 hour angle in 1997 , grew to 114 ha in just 23 year , and are now working on further enlargement . And it is not just their yield that is increasing , their assortment is being expanded as well , as they are even branching out of rose for the first meter . Naveda also explain their authoritative determination to continue full yield during the unsealed times of COVID-19 and how that has prepare them for the increasing demand . Carlos Sanchez and Carlos Naveda at the FlowersExpo 2019 in Moscow , Russia.2020 the only twelvemonth without expansionBecause of the pandemic , Tessa Corp ’s expansion architectural plan for 2020 did not pass . Yet this lack of expansion did not stay for recollective . “ We expanded to a total of 114 hectare in 2019 and were planning to do more in 2020 , but because of the pandemic we determine not to . Luckily , at that prison term we just had the bloom ready from our 2019 expansion , so we were able to profit from that and not expound our categorisation either for that year . Yet now that it is 2021 and thing are improving , we are continuing our enlargement programme . This year , we buy additional land of 55 hectare and are presently working on expanding production on that by 20 hectares . Further expansion on this new land will then begin later on in the future . ” Naveda explains that being able to feel new land is really difficult at the moment in Ecuador . “ Therefore , what most companies are doing is taking over already exist farms that are not doing well . Yet we think there are many benefits to starting from scratch on a unexampled land , as you may really do things exactly as you need it . ”Expanding assortmentNaveda explains that the enlargement are mostly to meet the increased demand for their rose . That is why they are using 80 % of their expansion for growing more of the roses already in their categorization , and the remaining 20 % for raw varieties they think will be great additions . “ We have in reality been receiving requests from customer for sprayer rose , so that is something we are considering as well . This is an exciting chance for us as we have always only done dissimilar varieties of veritable pink wine . In 2020 we also take off selling Gypsophila , which is the first time we were furcate out and selling something other than rose . We are excited to see the positive response from our customer , as they have been selling quickly . ”“We decided to not reduce costs during pandemic”While many company were cutting down costs , Tessa Corp wanted to be in full quick for when business would be back . “ When the pandemic just jump and it was tremendously impact many companies , we were already looking ahead toward the time to come . While other companies were reducing costs during these uncertain time , we decided to keep on yield as usual and keep 100 % of our employee . Of course this seemed like a mad determination for most people , as we could not yet imagine that customer would be so interested in flower and plants once things would better . Yet it meant that our companionship and production was really secure when the demand was quickly increase . ”For more information : Tessa CorpCarlos Naveda[email protected]www.tessacorporation.com
