The project was born in collaboration withFlowers from the Farm , Tessa tells us . " I first learnt about Flowers from the Farm through my local farmer ’s market place where one of their members sell their flowers each month . I then contacted Gill Hodgson , who founded the formation in 2011 and then used their database to contact growers local to me and the project just bit by bit gained momentum . "

Tessa started by get hold of growers local to her and later further afield on recommendation by other growers . " With over 500 member it has been impossible to chat all those that I would like to be take , but I am still do work on the projection , so hope to both cover to claver my local growers and let in new ones in the future . Instagram has also been a major way to keep in touch with seasonal flowers and who might be doing something different . by and by on in the project , I spent much more meter in Lincolnshire photograph some of the larger commercial blossom farms and explore into the story of incandescent lamp production in that region which has been fascinating . "

So how did the growers react when a stranger approach them to take exposure of them and their farm ? Well , in Tessa ’s words : " I had a very positive response from everyone about my approximation to show the mass work to grow flower for the beautiful bouquets and event and a bit more of the world of artisan prime growing , and everyone I have asked so far has said ‘ yes ’ ! "

" Farming , not gardening"During the course of study of the labor , Tessa has learnt a lot about the realities of growing heyday commercially : " The hard employment , recollective minute , incredible horticultural knowledge , the provision ahead and marketing of your product , particularly this year how the unknown seasonal weather condition can wreck even the most organised spring up plans . And what about other res publica ? Well , Tessa has already been to Kenya to natter Tambuzi , an ethically run flower farm and Fairtrade baby farm to The Real Flower Company . " Tambuzi is the only provider of traditional scented garden roses in Kenya and I am hoping to give back to uphold to tell the story of the community around the flower farm . "
