This is my Zone 5 garden in spring , my best-loved time of year . In New Hampshire , spring is suddenly - lived , muddy , windy , and cold , but it is welcome even so . I ’ve been a Master Gardener for over 20 year and owned a garden design business sector for 13 class . It ’s decent to finally have time to playact in my own garden !

The Virginia bluebells(Mertensiavirginica , Zones 3–8 ) have matured into a sizable clump along awoodlandpath .

One of my favorite plants isepimedium . I have a collecting of over 15 varieties , including thisEpimedium×   rubrum(Zones 5–9 ) , which fix a durableground cover for shaded partsof the garden , lead with delicate flowers in the spring and beautiful leafage all summer .

former blooming hellebores pair nicely with the veryearly blooming bulbglory - of - the - snow(Chionodoxa forbesii , Zones 3–8 ) .

No springtime garden is complete without daffodils(Narcissushybrids , Zones 3–9 ) . It ’s hard to imagine the spring season without their cheerful yellow blooms .
